Why Choose Maine Coast Trek
Ocean Life
Maine has 3,500 miles of winding shoreline with quaint harbor towns along the way and lighthouses in every nook and cranny. It's one thing to experience the snaky shoreline by bicycle, but there are many other benefits to being surrounded by ocean on your bike trip. You'll get to eat fresh seafood, experience marine wildlife like seals, dolphins and otters, go kayaking in the bay, and take stunning cliffside hikes watching waves crash into rocks beneath you.
A Land Covered in Forest
Maine is known for it's undeveloped forests, with 90% of the state's land still covered in forest. This means there is abundant opportunity for enjoying parks and recreation. The gem of this trip might just be the three-day stent trekkers get to spend in the iconic Acadia National Park. Over those three days trekkers will usually hike or bike up to watch the sunrise at Cadillac Mountain, the first place to see the sun rise on the east coast of North America. They will also discover more hiking trails within the park and bike along the historic Carriage Trails. And of course, they will enjoy much needed rest either hanging from a hammock in their forested campground, or hanging out beachside with friends, frisbees and a cool ocean breeze.
Dreamy Summer Vibe
From beaches to mountains to quaint New England towns, Maine's got a pretty sweet summer scene. On a hot summer day along coastal Maine, you can cool off in the ocean, stop for wild blueberry ice cream, take a paddling or fishing adventure and feast on buttery lobster to top off a perfect day!
