Trek Description

Explore some of the most spectacular and most remote coastline of the lower 48! You’ll travel along breathtaking coastal roads surrounded by thick forests and through quaint Oregon and Californian towns. After spending a day touring Portland, we’ll begin our journey in Seaside, OR down the popular Pacific Coast Bicycle Route down the Oregon coast to the Oregon Dunes. When we cross into California we’ll bike through towering Redwood Forests, visit vibrant Arcata, CA, explore the fabled Lost Coast, & bike the Avenue of the Giants in Humboldt Redwoods State Park. On our last day of bicycling we’ll triumphantly cross the Golden Gate Bridge into San Francisco!
This trip is for those cyclists looking for a true challenge amidst the most incredible scenery; the route is quite hilly and we’ll have days of bicycling upwards of 70 miles. When we reach San Francisco you’ll be ready for the comforts of the big city and a good meal out.
If you don’t have enough time in your summer schedule for the Across America Trek but you still want a challenge, this is the right trek for you!
This trip is best suited for experienced bikers comfortable on roads with some traffic.

Bike tourists come from all over to bike along the Pacific Coast Highway for its dramatic cliffside ocean views and challenging rolling roadways offering immediate rewards. Immediate reward satisfies a difficult climb, as the Pacific Coastal Bike Route leads from one astonishing cliffside bend to the next. The cool breeze of a downhill descent and feeling of satisfaction when you hit your pillow each night, will leave trekkers proud each night, dreaming of the stunning views that can only be discovered through hard work.

Humble yourself while biking along giant Redwood trees and stunning Pacific Coastal views. Bike rides with this caliber of beautiful scenery are hard to come by. For days, you will bike through Redwood National Park, feeling small amongst an impressive forest. For most of the ride south along the Pacific Coast, the ocean will remain on your right-hand side, while dramatic desert mountains will sit to your left. You will feel like there is no better place to be biking, especially as the sun begins to set and the sky turns a variety of colors from pink and orange. Visit two iconic cities, and explore the urban beauty amongst the natural wonder found in Seattle and San Francisco. There is not a dull day from top to bottom of the Pacific Redwoods Trek.
