California Trekkers Enjoying the Sweet Views of the Pacific

We started the day continuing to ride in the gloomy overcast of clouds, but finally broke free and found the California sun. Our first hackey sack stop of the day was a beautiful beach where we rested up and kept practicing our sack skills. We rode through winding and climbing hills but maintained a sweet view of the Pacific Ocean all day! We refueled at a berry farm along the way which was a refreshing treat on the road! After pushing through some mechanical problems on the road we were exhausted and treated ourselves to burritos and burgers for lunch. 10 miles later we made it to Santa Cruz which was a nice change of pace from the highway. After a long rest in the city, getting groceries and gaining some wisdom by some locals passing by we were ready to finish the ride and get to our campsite. Over 35 miles of riding later, we made it to our first campsite of the trip in New Brighton State Beach! Some took a dip in the ocean while others soaked up the sun as we relaxed after the long day. A wonderful dinner was cooked by Zinnia, Holden, and Pradit, we shared our thoughts of the day over a fire and prepared for our first night in tents.
