Our Story
We explore the Great Lakes of New York and the islands of Vancouver. We pedal past Big Ben in Great Britain and cruise along the beaches of New England.
Teenagers from all 50 states, plus Canada, Europe, and Asia join our trips – and everyone gets a lot of say in what the group does each day, from planning the details of the route to picking out what’s for dinner. If everyone wants to bike hard and get to the beach faster, you can do that. If you want to spend a little more time taking pictures at a breathtaking waterfall or a picturesque waterfront, you can do that.
Any teenager can enjoy one of our summer bike trips. We love a good challenge and we encourage teens to be ambitious, but we keep things fun, too – there’s always time to stop for ice cream, enjoy the scenery, or check out an awesome local restaurant or historical site.
At Teen Treks we offer fun and not competitive biking experiences. Our Moderate rated trips are geared towards first time bicyclists, appropriate for most 14-
From 2001 –
Over our history, we’ve run fantastic trips up and down the New England Shore, from New York to Montreal, in the Pacific Northwest, and along the California Coast, Across America, and through the best sites in Europe. This year, we’re offering 16 unforgettable adventures.

Teen Treks gives teenagers the chance to discover the excitement and challenge of bike touring within an intimate group setting, seeing beautiful natural landscapes and world-class cities while gaining independence and travel skills. We help teens find great experiences out on the road and make memories that will last a lifetime.
Letter from the Director
My love of biking started as a teenager on an American Youth Hostels, AYH bike trip. During most of my college summers I was a Trip Leader on those same AYH trips. Unfortunately, AYH stopped running those fantastic trips a long time ago. I couldn’t let ‘teen summer bike trips’ become a thing of the past, so I started Teen Treks over two decades ago.
As soon as my son Tyler was of age he hopped on his bike and hit the road with Teen Treks. Now years later, he joins many other amazing college/ graduate students that lead our adventures.
For the past 40 years I’ve been running bike trips for teens and the last 24 with Teen Treks. Every year we are getting better and better at making these adventures the best they can be. We are perfecting the great tradition of AYH-
