California Coast Trekkers Bike Big Sur

We woke up to trumpets playing and birds chirping. It took us a bit to get going because of a tire issue and also that we had to film some arcteryx fit checks. We finally headed out. After only like 3 miles we had to stop at a Walgreens! Which required an entire elevator to get to the bathroom and we also finally got some aloe for our sunburns and some pretty cool Spider-Man sunglasses.

🤕

Within like one mile we met a new friend, Carol. She took a selfie with us and told us she wanted to follow us, to which Oscar pointed her in the wrong direction (we’re all praying for her now).

🎉

Heading back out with carol in our hopes and prayers, we dodged a weird highway route and finally started going to the grocery store (Safeway our fav) Upon arrival to the Safeway, we made some more friends since Holden complemented probably 24 people along the way. We did some shopping and got the essentials like mini MnM’s, a speaker, and some dabegah (iykyk). We had to pack up quickly after reapplying sunscreen!! The UV was UP but we were still cruising, realizing that we still had most of our mileage to go.

😨

Around 2pm, we actually locked in and left to go to the scenic highway along Big Sur!! Cars were cheering us on and some just gawked at us. Who wouldn’t, we looked pretty cool. Either way we did some cheering back and only took some quick breaks (to take a team pic) so we could get to the campground in time. After Oscar told us “guys we might be in for a big climb” before turning into our campsite, we biked around 4 feet of elevation and got to a BEAUTIFUL redwood place. We cooked up some burgers while others hacky-sacked, and dinner was finally ready and we all ate them. The people who didn’t cook helped with dishes and then we got in a huddle to rate the meal on our four criteria: nutrition, taste, presentation, and execution, in which they scored a stunning 31/40. We ended the night with our new speaker’s music and some chatting over the campfire. Lovely day overall, we went 35 miles and 2,600 feet of elevation!!
