Across America Trekkers Plod Across Michigan

Another day in Paradise started off doomed from the start with our 8 am wake up.  For breakfast we ate an assortment of Doritos, Cheetos, rice crispy treats, and Gushers. We rolled out of a park in Muskegan at 9:15 with our bikes feeling light from not buying groceries for three days (a new record thanks to two kind families who fed us). We started the day off strong going the wrong way but made up for it by stopping at a local bakery (Rykes) where we enjoyed our second breakfast and started our first of many unnecessarily long breaks. The morning felt like we were facing headwind while pedaling through sand. We got on a recently refurbished bike path that felt like riding on a cloud with perfectly smooth oil pavement. Contrary to popular belief that the gravel has been giving us flats the bike path blessed us with four flats 😍. At each of the flat breaks we enjoyed our crazy creeks and more trucker diet snacks. Our high speed on the flats still let us get over 80 miles for the day. We arrived in town and prepared a ravioli dinner protected from the rain by a nice awning. After reflecting on our accomplishment of riding through a full day of rain we tucked in for bed.
