The rain woke up the cowboy campers as we started our day late at 6:30. We slowly got ready and ate our first breakfast of the day. We hiked to McDonalds for our second breakfast. Since when could you not order a big mac at all times of the day? Some of us were very disappointed. After we left Dons, we were faced with the biggest hill of the day. (A whopping 200 feet) we continued the day in the freezing cold rain. It was a refreshing change (for some of us) to get out of the heat. The rain stopped as we rolled into Plankington but we like to call
It Plankton. We ate lunch and swam in the pool. We continued biking for several hours until we came to a road closure where we chose to take a gravel path instead. Nothing good ever happens on gravel. As the sun was setting, we had over 5 miles to camp and our good fortune got us a flat. We continued to get two more flats on the same gravel road while racing the beautiful sunset. We finished our 100 miles just as it got dark. Lucas used his Spanish skills to finesse us a place to sleep which we were all very grateful for. We probably set a world record for the quickest dinner cooked and got ready for bed. We are all ready for auch needed rest day in Sioux Falls tomorrow.
