Friends, Ice Cream and Campfire on the Way to Missoula for Across America Trekkers

As any good rest day does ours started with some much needed sleeping in, followed by a gargantuan plate of Mexican lunch. After being indecisive and parking lot maxing (our new favorite pastime), we headed to the bike shop and of course made friends. The bike shop fellas gave us tips to stay safe and enjoy our ride to Missoula, and another fun local — the parents will appreciate this name—Robert Wagner—helped us get some extra layers that we need for the cold mountain nights. Robert said that the Dairy Queen was a Lewiston staple and that, “you can’t go without waiting in line.” So we went and passed the blizzard test! Everyone was happy about Dairy Queen since we really haven’t had ice cream, and once back at the campsite we made our first campfire. We enjoyed hot dogs (at least 4 fell in the dirt) and smores. Some other highlights from the boys include playing Go Fish in the collapsed tent and drinking their newly named “G-Pow” aka blue powder Gatorade.
