It’s the best time of day! It’s teen treks blog time. To get all caught up in the NYC-Montreal lets go through the group rose, bud, thorn of the day.
The rose (group highlight) was an amazing barn sale we came across nestled in the rolling hills outside of Saratoga Springs. The owners were super kind and generous. We were all able to fill up water, get a bunch of recommendations for the area, and take a big brake during our 50 mile day. Who doesn’t love a shopping break?!
The thorns (group challenges) were the several pieces of food which fell off of bikes and out of bungee cords throughout the day. Luckily all were safely recover, but there’s nothing like a can of beans falling out of a pannier to slow down momentum.
The bud (what the group looks forward to) is our campsite on Lake George tomorrow night which coincides with Shelters birthday! We are excited to celebrating the day with a feast of breakfast for dinner and lots of time swimming in the lake.
To end the blog we included a special surprise: A song written by the NYC-Montreal trekkers parodying Party Rock. Enjoy!
“Teen trekkers in the tents tonight
Everybody gonna have a good time
And the road quality is going to make you lose your food
But everybody still had a great time
Teen trekkers in the tents tonight
Everybody gonna have a good time
And the road quality is going to make you lose your food
But everybody still had a great time
We just want to see you… at the barn the sale
In the lake, slippery rock
Everyday I’m pedaling (pedaling, pedaling)
Roll up and be the first pothole to make me drop my food stash
Step up fast and price chopper grocery is going to make me save my cash
Everyday I’m pedaling (pedaling, pedaling)”
